Day three – homecoming

Day three

Homecoming.  Duncan and Emma came to get me about 9am, by this time I had showered, I am so pleased I bought the v shaped pillow before my op – Duncan brought this in on the Wednesday and I definitely needed it for the car ride home.  This was not a pleasant journey but as soon as I got home I could tell I was feeling better.

My sister had a train to catch on Friday afternoon,  I will be eternally grateful for her support, kindness and understanding during what has been the most difficult week of my life.  When Emma said she wanted to come I was very assertive that I just wanted Duncan and I to deal with this on our own,  but I was wrong,  when it came down to it we needed her.  I really enjoyed getting to know her more,  she has a wicked sense of humour and this experience has brought us so much closer – I can’t wait to see her again.
